Your swims remove plastic from the ocean on the Compete Impossible App
September 27, 2021
Forward-thinking UK-based app Compete Impossible has created the world’s first totally dedicated platform for sustainability and environmental offsetting for athletes. This October, they have teamed up with the Resea Project to take immediate action against climate change and the growing plastic crisis in our waters.
Only 9% of all plastic is recycled and by 2050, there will be more plastic in the sea than fish. The plastic crisis in our oceans is fundamentally a commercial problem, caused by mankind, which is doing immeasurable harm to our wildlife and planet. The Resea Project supports the circular economy around ocean change, including facilitating daily clean-up missions and compensating teams all over the world.
Compete Impossible founder, Martin Lacey, says, “Our mission is to become the most fun, easy and competitive way for people everywhere to manage their carbon footprint whilst improving health and performance.”
Compete Impossible only launched in January 2021 and has already been downloaded over 3,000 times in 96 countries, in partnership with some incredible sustainable brands. The app integrates with Garmin, Polar, Suunto, Apple Health and Fitbit.
Most importantly, Compete Impossible is one of the first fitness technology companies to put sustainability at the heart of all decision making, including building out a partner programme for brands, events and charities.
Download the Compete Impossible App today to start donating your lengths and doing your bit in the fight against climate change.
