XTERRA Statement on COVID-19

To date, the XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship scheduled for March 28, 2020 and XTERRA Japan scheduled for September 20, 2020, have been cancelled, and three European Tour events scheduled in April - Malta, Croatia, and Greece - have been postponed

XTERRA Global, LLC, owners and producers of the XTERRA World Tour, are following direction provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and local municipalities regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) for each of the 35 events in 25 countries on the 2020 XTERRA World Championship Qualifying Series schedule.

“While each of our destinations has its own unique, evolving circumstances to consider, the health and safety of humanity and all people in the communities where we race continues to be our primary concern,” said XTERRA World Tour President, Janet Clark.

To date, the XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship scheduled for March 28, 2020 and XTERRA Japan scheduled for September 20, 2020, have been cancelled, and three European Tour events scheduled in April – Malta, Croatia, and Greece – have been postponed. Looking ahead, each event will be thoroughly vetted, individually, to determine further restrictions, cancellations, and safety measures.

An event status page has been posted on the XTERRA World Tour website, www.XTERRAPlanet.com, and updates will be published as they are confirmed.  In addition, registered athletes will be informed of updates as they occur on an event-by-event basis via email, and through local and regional social media and website postings.

The XTERRA World Tour racing committee is also monitoring the ever-changing situation and will adjust and communicate tour rule changes as needed for the XTERRA Asia-Pacific, European, and U.S. series on the event status and individual tour information pages.
