With the help of J&A Racing, Nuun delivers a memorable virtual half marathon for its ambassador team

November 30, 2020 – J&A Racing, a nationally recognized race management company based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, utilized it’s nearly 20 years of experience in the running industry to help Nuun deliver a memorable virtual Half Marathon for the Nuun ambassador team. With in-person races disappearing from every runner’s 2020 schedule, the chance to create a participant experience required drastic change. The chance to interact with participants face-to-face no longer exists, but the chance to leave an impact has magnified.

“Typically, our year is heavily dependent on in-person activations. When the pandemic happened, and events started being canceled, we went back to the drawing board, and back to our roots. We were incredibly excited to partner with J&A Racing to make the Team Nuun Half Marathon happen and can’t wait to make the Team Nuun Half Marathon a recurring marquee activation for us,” said Tyler Shannon, Ambassador Program Manager.

Over 2,100 ambassadors from both the United States and Canada participated in the Team Nuun Half Marathon on November 7th. Thanks to J&A Racing and its partners including technology partner Haku, Nuun was able to deliver a customized and branded event from registration to results. J&A Racing also fulfilled and shipped participant swag including custom medals that left participants in awe.

“I’ve been a Nuun ambassador for 3 years and this event has pulled everyone together in a way I’ve never seen! This was some people’s first half marathon, first running race even, and it was amazing to watch everyone check in and train together over the weeks. As race day approached, you could feel the excitement in the group,” said Nuun Ambassador, Ashley Jilek. “It was the same excitement you get during a live race. Then the medals came, and people were in awe. They were absolutely stunning, every detail from the sparkles on the medal to the ribbon design were perfect. Even though I’m ready for live races to come back, I would do this virtual race with my Nuun team every year. It truly brought us all together!”
