Team RWB ultra runners Cole DeRosa and Zack Lever consider Veo Strips core performance gear and will wear them during training and the Old Glory Ultra Relay
PORTLAND, Ore. and SAN DIEGO, Calif. (April 14, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ — Veo Strip, a sports start-up that created an innovative product to keep sweat from affecting an athlete’s vision during physical activities, today announced its sponsorship of Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB) in the upcoming Old Glory Ultra Relay, a coast-to-coast running relay honoring America’s veterans. Several Team RWB runners will use Veo Strips to manage sweat while running across America.
Beginning May 2, 2025, twelve veteran athletes will embark on a world record attempt, carrying a single American flag 3,000 miles from San Diego, California, to Washington, D.C., in a non-stop relay. The flag will remain in constant motion as the team traverses the nation day and night, facing all weather conditions and terrains in a test of physical and mental fortitude.
Team RWB ultra runners Cole DeRosa, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel and world champion OCR and HYROX athlete, and Zack Lever, a retired Command Sergeant Major, consider Veo Strips core performance gear and will wear them during training and the Old Glory Ultra Relay.
“Through the Old Glory Ultra Relay, Team RWB will showcase the resilience, teamwork, and commitment that defines what it means to be a veteran,” said Michael Sullivan, Team RWB Chief of Staff. “The support from partners like Veo Strip is invaluable in helping us through this challenge, allowing our team runners to stay focused on their mission and maintain peak performance.”
The relay will kick off with a military ceremony aboard the USS Midway in San Diego, where a flag flown and carried during combat operations in Afghanistan in 2009, will be delivered to the 12-member veteran team. The journey will conclude between May 17 and 19 at the future home of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., where all runners will cross the finish line together and present the flag to GWOT Foundation representatives.
Veo Strips are patented featherweight strips that adhere to the forehead to channel sweat away from the eyes during physical activity. As the team traverses challenging terrains and varying climates across the country, Veo Strips will help eliminate distractions that could impact their performance during critical moments of the 3,000-mile relay.
“We’re honored to support Team RWB and these extraordinary veterans in their historic coast-to-coast journey,” said Tom Kelley, CEO of Veo Strip. “Their determination to carry our nation’s flag across 3,000 miles while raising critical funds for veteran wellness programs showcases the indomitable spirit of our military community. It’s a privilege for our team at Veo Strip to play a role in this historic relay that honors service while promoting the well-being of those who have given so much to our country.”
The Old Glory Ultra Relay aims to raise $1 million for veteran health and wellness initiatives. The public is encouraged to support this historic endeavor by donating to Team RWB at teamrwb.org/donate.
