USA Cycling’s Official Performance Apparel Partner Unveils Olympic Looks
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – This summer, the best cyclists in the world will be taking on the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and USA Cycling’s Performance Apparel Partner, CUORE of Switzerland, will be outfitting all of the American athletes on the Road, Track, and Mountain Bike teams.
CUORE and USA Cycling collaborated to design a kit with a similar look to the iconic USA Cycling National Team Kit, but refashioned using a white base to create a unique look for the Olympic Games. The custom detailing on the kits includes gold stars on the back symbolizing the five disciplines that will be competing in the 2021 Olympics – Road, Mountain Bike, BMX Racing, BMX Freestyle, and Track.
“CUORE of Switzerland’s goal is to provide USA Cycling athletes with the best fitting and highest performance apparel in the world ensuring every possible advantage in competition. The Tokyo kits are an evolution of years of testing and development focusing on several key areas,” said Scott Tietzel of CUORE of Switzerland. “The overall fit and comfort for the athletes is paramount. The performance gains that can be found in the aerodynamic efficiency and heat regulation are also both major factors in selecting the materials and construction of the clothing to ensure the athletes have the ultimate advantage in Tokyo.”
CUORE has created this apparel with unmatched technology to give the athletes every advantage possible. The kits include aerodynamic stretch materials and contoured paneling for speed and efficiency, along with a low-cut race collar for improved fit. When racing can come down to a fraction of a second, it is paramount that the Olympic Team is wearing the fastest gear in the world.
To help the riders prepare for the extreme temperatures that the Japanese summer can present, CUORE crafted jerseys made with proprietary lightweight ventilated fabrics for increased cooling efficiency. Additionally, the Olympic bibs feature a highly breathable antimicrobial chamois and are constructed with a seamless leg gripper for improved comfort while riding. The Road and Mountain Bike teams will have full-zip, two-in-one suits featured with two back pockets for race fuel.
USA Cycling is excited to finally name the Olympic Team that will be heading to Tokyo in less than two months. Tune in to USA Cycling’s social channels on Thursday, June 10th, 2021 at 10 a.m. MT. to find out who will be representing the United States at the upcoming Olympic Games.
