US Trail Running Conference announces business and community focus for first day of 2022 eventday
June 17, 2022
Business coaching sessions have been designed to generate growth, actions and success for race directors
Estes Park /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Active at Altitude, organizers of the US Trail Running Conference, have announced that the first day of the industry-leading 2022 event, Wednesday October 19, 2022, will be dedicated to business and community. Sessions throughout the day will focus on business challenges directly derived from a recent survey of race directors. Content will include creating strategies focused on these specific business challenges, and turning strategies into actions. Sessions will be led by Paul Jurasin from Cal Poly Digital Transformation Hub.
The day will also include a presentation on social media and digital marketing created to help guide race directors to maximize their digital presence and convert this into registrations and increased business revenue.
Washington-based race director, and co-owner of Evergreen Trail Runs and Orca Running, Porter Bratten, will deliver a presentation on buying and selling trail races, helping race directors that either wish to increase, or reduce, their existing race portfolio, as well as understand the value of their races or brand.
A further panel session will cover successful creative innovations in the sport, presenting real life examples of thinking outside of the box to generate new revenue opportunities in the sport. Panelists will include Dakota Jones from Footprints Running Camp, and Bart Davis from Terrain Scouts.
The day will round out with a session presented by Darn Tough Vermont ® that includes a “Big Pitch” format with a significant prize line up for races that are selected to become Darn Tough Champions of the Trail Running Community. Details will be released shortly on the entry and selection processes. You can see the schedule for the 2022 US Trail Running Conference at this link.
Event Director for the US Trail Running Conference, Terry Chiplin said, “We are very excited to announce the lineup for the first day of the 2022 event. With the many challenges that the last 2 years and the impacts of Covid have had on the sport, we felt that this was the right time to create content that is designed to help race directors overcome those challenges. We are confident that the sessions we have created will help all race directors to find innovative ways to kick start their businesses and yield strong recovery and new growth areas to explore within the sport. Sadly we have lost several race businesses in the last few years. I am thrilled that our opening day is focused on the importance of business for race directors in the sport, and look forward to lively and engaged discussions with all participants.`’
