Tokyo Marathon cancelled due to virus fears

The 2020 Tokyo Marathon has cancelled its mass participation race, scheduled for March 1, due to a confirmed case of coronavirus. The event will still run its elite and wheelchair races. The 2020 marathon doubles as the Olympic Trials for Japanese runners (they will still have the opportunity to compete). The field that was supposed to be roughly 38,000 runners has been downsized to roughly 200. Read more on Canadian Running Magazine.
