NASHVILLE, Tenn (December 4, 2024) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Music City Turkey Trot had over 2100 participants turnout in the heart of Downtown Nashville to take part in the original Nashville Thanksgiving Day running and walking event. The event featured a 1-mile course and 5K course that welcomed trotters of all ages, experience levels, and for the first time, four-legged friends who trotted in the inaugural Music City Doggie Dash. Both courses began and finished in Nissan Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans, and journeyed through iconic areas of Nashville, including over Gateway Bridge.
Impressive results were seen across the board, with Robert Andwood, the men’s 5K champion, completing the 3.1 miles in 16:22. Coming in after Andwood was the men’s 5K second-place finisher, Joshua Novotny. Chatham Anderson took the third-place spot. The women’s 5K course was led by Jennifer Malavolta, who finished with a time of 19:36. Second and third-place finishers for the women’s 5K were Jadyn Zdanavage and Alyssa Jochen.
“With a tradition that is enjoyed by so many people nationwide, we are constantly trying to find ways to welcome even more to take part in the holiday fun, pets and all!” said Malain McCormick, Owner and Operator of Run Nash, producer of the Music City Turkey Trot. “We take pride in being a part of so many people’s Thanksgiving holiday, and hope to continue to see even more people and four-legged friends joining us in years to come.”
One notable participant was actor, singer, and philanthropist Charles Esten who ran the trot with his family. Race day also featured a costume competition, awarding the top three winners apple pies to add to their holiday spread.
The 2024 Music City Turkey Trot supported Nurture the Next, a local charity with the mission to support parents and the communities where they live in creating loving homes that make children feel nurtured.
