Planting 100,000 Trees for the Health of our National Forests
Missoula, MT (June 22, 2021) –ThermoWorks, America’s leading thermometer manufacturer, today announces their partnership with the National Forest Foundation (NFF), a congressionally-chartered nonprofit arm working to improve the health of the National Forest System. Through this partnership, ThermoWorks will sponsor the planting of 100,000 trees in 2021 and is launching a special edition ThermoDrop keyring thermometer commemorating the partnership, and donating a tree for every product sold.
“Our forest lands are a national treasure that impact all our lives. The National Forest Foundation unites people in a cause that really matters. We are pleased to participate on behalf of our customers and employees in planting trees in forests across America,” said Randy Owen, ThermoWorks President and CEO
In addition to their $100,000 donation, ThermoWorks is creating a limited-edition National Forest Foundation, Sage Green ThermoDrop Zipper-Pull Thermometer. The ThermoDrop is designed to bring along on any adventure, whether you want to know how cold it got in the tent overnight or the temperature as you’re rock climbing. Every ThermoDrop purchased will add a tree to be planted by the National Forest Foundation.
“Temperature is a parameter that highly affects the daily lives of people who recreate, work, or spend time in the National Forests,” said Mindy Crowell, Reforestation Partnerships Director at NFF. “We are thrilled to partner with a brand creating products designed to be used while hiking, skiing, camping and biking. Their donation to reforestation is critical in helping to protect the public lands where users recreate.”
In 2020, reforestation partners like ThermoWorks aided the NFF in planting 5.6 million trees and reforesting over 18,000 acres. The trees planted through their donation will help protect the watersheds that provide thousands of communities with water. And as these trees grow, they’ll help fight global climate change and ensure wildlife have healthy places to live.
