The Pikes Peak APEX presented by RockShox Announces The Rampart Range Strava Challenge

Locals and non-locals have different ways to try to get a free entry into the September event

Colorado Springs, Colorado—Sports Strategies announced today that The Pikes Peak APEX presented by RockShox will hold a climbing challenge for Colorado Springs locals to test their skills on Rampart Range Road, one of the featured climbs in September’s event. Locals will try to get their best Strava time on one of Colorado Springs fabled dirt climbs while anyone outside of town can join the competition by guessing the winning times of those who are taking on the climb.

“With our event more than five months away, we want to give our locals a chance to be constructive with their solo rides here in town,” says Micah Rice, Executive Director of The Pikes Peak APEX.  “Rampart Range Road has been a testing ground for many riders, and this is a great way to get the locals out on their bikes and give them a reason to go hard.”

Rampart Range will be the first big test in the September event and is a 12-mile climb starting in Garden of the Gods Park. The top male and female times during a certain timeframe until mid-May will be offered a complementary entry into the Pikes Peak APEX this coming September. Riders who live outside of town can get involved by guessing the combined times of the men’s and women’s winners. The Pikes Peak APEX presented by RockShox inaugural event will be held September 24-27, 2020. This unique event features four days of riding in Olympic City, USA, including in-town parks and backcountry stages on the slopes of Pikes Peak.
