The Northshore Half Marathon celebrates its 15th Anniversary

Record crowd for Sold Out event
Mandeville, LA /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ This weekend the Northshore Half Marathon and 10 Miler celebrates its 15th Anniversary in gorgeous Fontainebleau State Park. The event known for its scenic course and amazing post-race party is set to be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024. This year’s event has drawn a record number of participants, approaching nearly 1,600 runners from 22 states, Canada, and as far away as New Zealand.
The event offers 3 distances over the Sunday morning. The namesake, Half Marathon starts at 7:00 AM alongside the 10 milers. Then at 7:30 AM, the Jockamo Juicy IPA 5K begins. The Half Marathon and 10 Miler are sold out. Registration is currently open for the Jockamo IPA 5K, and participants can register at www.northshorehalfmarathon.com.
“This event started in 2010 as a vision to bring a marquee endurance event to the Northshore. I wanted to showcase the beauty of Fontainebleau State Park and Historic Old Mandeville,” said Michael Wattigny, Marketing Director for the event. “I am proud to say that it has become the focal point for folks from around the state to kick off their fall endurance schedule and provided a goal for many to start their fitness journey.”
Following the race, participants and spectators alike can enjoy the Abita Post Race Party. The festivities offers participants a time to enjoy classic bites including Louisiana Seafood, alongside refreshing Abita Beer for participants 21+. The sounds and music of Spoonfed Jr. will take the Abita Post Race stage starting at 8:30 am.
This event is a production of FRESHJUNKIE Racing. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Run Gulf Coast Foundation and Ainsley’s Angels of America.
