The 2024 Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series:
- The village of Lake Placid and New York’s Adirondacks Mountains, which twice hosted the Winter Olympic Games in 1932 and 1980, is set to host the twelfth race of the IRONMAN Pro Series™.
- Marking a quarter-century of unforgettable moments and incredible achievements, the iconic Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid triathlon will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year.
- Top professional triathletes from around the world will converge in the Adirondacks to battle for a piece of the $125,000 total event pro prize purse.
- IRONMAN Pro Series Panel to take place on Friday, July 19 at 12:00 p.m. ET at the Lake Placid Central School Auditorium and is free and open to the public.

- The 2024 Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid triathlon will see athletes kick off their race with a 2.4-mile swim in pristine Mirror Lake before beginning the 112-mile 2-loop bike course, passing the Ski Jumps and famed Olympic Center. The 26.2-mile 2-loop run course takes athletes on a tour through the city center before finishing to cheering crowds along the Olympic Oval.

IRONMAN Pro Series
- The inaugural year of the IRONMAN Pro Series, which was first announced in October of 2023, will see professional triathletes vie for the title of IRONMAN Pro Series Champion and their share of an incremental $1.7 million dollars paid at years end on top of individual event payout creating a total pro prize and bonus purse of nearly $6 million in 2024 season.
- The series is contested over 20 designated races on 19 courses in the 2024 pro circuit, including a combination of six full-distance IRONMAN events and 10 IRONMAN 70.3 triathlons from around the globe in addition to the split location women’s and men’s 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship triathlons and two-day women’s and men’s VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlons.

IRONMAN Foundation Chattanooga Giveback Specifics

The IRONMAN Foundation and Bikes For Kids
- The IRONMAN Foundation will host Bikes For Kids in IRONMAN Village July 18 through 20. Through Bikes For Kids, athletes, supporters, and guests are invited to stop at The IRONMAN Foundation booth to build a bike and leave a personal note of encouragement for a community child who will be gifted with the bike. In total, seventy-five bikes and helmets will be assembled and distributed to youth at the Lake Placid Central School District.
- The IRONMAN Foundation activities will continue on race day, with three pro athlete relay teams racing for the IRONMAN Foundation’s community initiatives.
