/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The 2024 IRONMAN 70.3 Boulder triathlon
- Boulder, Colo., known as the outdoor playground for endurance athletes, is set to host the seventh race of the IRONMAN Pro Series™.
- Top professional triathletes from around the world will converge in Colorado to battle for a piece of the $50,000 total event pro prize purse.
- IRONMAN Pro Series Panel to take place at 12:00 p.m. MT on Friday, June 7 located at the IRONMAN Village stage at the Boulder Reservoir, and is free and open to the public.
- Free Live coverage of Saturday’s event to be broadcast in U.S. and Canada exclusively on Outside TV and for international audiences across multiple platforms, including proseries.ironman.com, DAZN, and L’Equipe in France.
- Approximately 2,000 age-group athletes are registered to compete alongside the professionals on the same IRONMAN 70.3 Boulder triathlon course, looking to earn qualifying slots to the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlon in Taupō, New Zealand, taking place on December 14 and 15, 2024.
- The 2024 IRONMAN 70.3 Boulder triathlon will see athletes kick off their race with a counterclockwise 1.4-mile swim in the Boulder Reservoir before beginning the revamped 56-mile 2-loop bike course through the rolling hills in western Colorado. The 13.1-mile 2-loop run course takes athletes along the hard packed dirt roads of the Boulder Reservoir before finishing with the iconic Flatirons in the background.

IRONMAN Pro Series
- The inaugural year of the IRONMAN Pro Series, which was first announced in October of 2023, will see professional triathletes vie for the title of IRONMAN Pro Series Champion and their share of an incremental $1.7 million dollars paid at years end on top of individual event payout creating a total pro prize and bonus purse of nearly $6 million in 2024 season.
- The series is contested over 20 designated races on 19 courses in the 2024 pro circuit, including a combination of six full-distance IRONMAN events and 10 IRONMAN 70.3 triathlons from around the globe in addition to the split location women’s and men’s 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship triathlons and two-day women’s and men’s VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlons.

- Free Live coverage of Saturday’s event to be broadcast across multiple platforms for viewers around the world including proseries.ironman.com, Outside TV, DAZN and L’Equipe in France, among others.

IRONMAN Foundation IRONMAN 70.3 Boulder Giveback Specifics
- This year, in conjunction with IRONMAN 70.3 Boulder, the IRONMAN Foundation is distributing over $16,500 in charitable giveback to local organizations within the Boulder region, bringing the total historical giveback to over $700,000.
Military Care Packages
- The IRONMAN Foundation will assemble military care packages filled with hygiene products and snacks in IRONMAN Village. Athletes and guests can stop by the IRONMAN Foundation booth to pack a care package and write a personal and inspirational note.
- Fifty military care boxes will be packed and distributed to Soldier’s Angels, a local military organization that provides resources and support for military families, veterans, and/or active-duty military. They will distribute the packages to Buckley Space Force Base for active-duty personnel.
Operation Gold Star
- The IRONMAN Foundation’s Operation Gold Star program gives active-duty military and veterans the chance to team up and honor Gold Star Families by carrying an American flag during the run portion of select IRONMAN 70.3 events.
- There will be two Operation Gold Stars racing in honor of our fallen soldiers and Gold Star Families in conjunction with IRONMAN 70.3 Boulder.
- Airman First Class Jamiee Fougner
- Sergeant Austin Hirschfield
- Airman First Class Jamiee served four years as a Medic in the United States Airforce. She will carry the flag in honor of Air Force Captain Derek Argel who was killed on May 30, 2005 in the crash of an Iraqi Air Force aircraft during a mission.
- Sergeant Austin Hirschfield served as a Cavalry Scout with both the 173rd Airborne Brigade and 101st Airborne Division while deploying to Afghanistan. Sergeant Austin also served with the 1006th Quartermaster Company as a Light Wheeled mechanic in the Reserves. He will carry the flag in honor of all fallen soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for us.
