July 27, 2021
EVERGREEN, CO, July 27, 2021 — Team Evergreen Cycling, a 501c3 with a mission to support the cycling community, is proud to announce a $60,000 donation through the proceeds of The Hundo mountain bike race. This generous contribution will be split equally among the three beneficiaries.
This year’s beneficiaries of The Hundo are the Colorado High School Cycling League– a resource for high school students around the state to be exposed to the world of cycling, Lucky to Ride– dedicated to giving underserved and at-risk youth the opportunity to experience and learn about the natural beauty of Colorado, and the Colorado Mountain Bike Association (COMBA) – a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and preservation of great mountain biking experiences in Colorado. Each organization has received a $20,000 donation through the sold-out event that took place in the Buffalo Creek area near Bailey, CO on June 19th.
“We couldn’t be happier with the result of this year’s Hundo, for both riders and our beneficiaries. The mission of Team Evergreen is to host exceptional events and return the profits to the community, and we have done just that. We are proud to give a significant donation on behalf of the generous participants of the Hundo,”shares Executive Director of Team Evergreen, Jen Barbour.
The 12th Annual Hundo has a tremendous tradition of supporting community cycling initiatives. Team Evergreen picked up the baton with the blessing of the The Hundo Board to continue the legacy of giving that this fantastic event provides to the Colorado League, Colorado Mountain Bike Association, and Lucky to Ride.
“The synergy among the three beneficiaries and Team Evergreen emulates the success of this collaboration,” states Kate Rau, Executive Director of the Colorado League. “We are beyond grateful to the racers, volunteers, sponsors, and Team Evergreen. Their commitment demonstrates a strong belief in the beneficial outcomes of the program. The Hundo and all the participants positively influence the present and shape the future.”
Since its establishment in 1988, Team Evergreen has donated over $3 million to local nonprofits through the proceeds of their events and membership. The remaining 2021 Team Evergreen events include the sold-out Triple Bypass and the Beti Bike Bash on October 3rd. To learn more about Team Evergreen and its mission, visit www.teamevergreen.org.
