TAPS Selected as Beneficiary for 2022 Armed Forces Cycling Classic Challenge Ride

Challenge Ride participants invited to support TAPS through crowdsourced fundraising

Arlington, Va./ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Armed Forces Cycling Classic (AFCC), presented by The Boeing Company, returns to Arlington, Va., June 4-5, 2022. Arlington Sports, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors(TAPS) has been selected as the official beneficiary.

“We are honored to continue our participation in the Armed Forces Cycling Classic, and are grateful to be chosen as the charity beneficiary of the AFCC Challenge Ride,” said Bonnie Carroll, TAPS President and Founder and 2015 Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient. “Cyclists of all abilities can ride with Team TAPS, honor the memory of a fallen military hero, and help support our mission to care for all those grieving the death of a military loved one.”

TAPS is the leading national nonprofit organization offering compassionate care and survivor support services to all those who have suffered the loss of a loved one who served in the Armed Forces. Since 1994, TAPS has assisted more than 85,000 surviving family members, casualty officers and caregivers through a 24/7 helpline, casework assistance, unlimited grief counseling and access to community-based care.

The 2022 AFCC Challenge Ride is open to Corporate Challenge Teams and individual riders of all abilities. Challenge Ride participants are invited to set up a crowdsourced fundraising page to support TAPS in the lead-up to race weekend. All riders who raise $200 or more will receive a limited edition Team TAPS jersey. Interested riders can set up their fundraising page at http://team.taps.org/cyclingclassic.
