Supertri’s Fight Against Cancer: Sport for a Greater Cause

February 4, 2025

February 4, 2025 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – This World Cancer Day, we at Supertri want to highlight an integral part of our mission: creating positive change in the communities we serve. Beyond the races, the cheering crowds, and the incredible athletic achievements, Supertri is dedicated to giving back. Through our partnerships with leading medical institutions and the incredible support of the wider community, we’re working to support cancer patients and advance lifesaving research.

Long Beach: Record-Breaking Support for CHLA

Our Long Beach Legacy Triathlon saw over $600,000 raised for paediatric cancer research at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in a single year, thanks to the generosity of participants and the success of the Corporate Challenge initiative. So far, more than $19m has been raised for CHLA. This support helps fund crucial pediatric cancer research, providing hope and resources to families in need.

The event’s growth has been extraordinary, with participation numbers soaring by 60% in just one year under Supertri’s stewardship. It’s a testament to the power of community and the impact of sport as a vehicle for meaningful change.

Chicago: Adrian’s Inspiring Journey

In Chicago, our partnership with Lurie Children’s Hospital brought a new dimension to Supertri’s mission. Adrian Lam, a former Lurie’s patient who triumphed over Stage IV Non-Hodgkin’s B-Cell Lymphoma, took to the racecourse with determination, raising over $12,000 for pediatric cancer research.

Adrian’s story, combined with the incredible support from the Chicago community, has helped shine a light on the hospital’s vital work. This partnership is just the beginning of Supertri’s commitment to making a difference in Chicago.

Toulouse: Uplifting Patients at Oncopole

In Toulouse, French gold medal hero Cassandre Beaugrand joined fellow Olympians Dorian Coninx, Emma Lombardi, Léonie Periault, and Supertri CEO Michael D’hulst to visit the Oncopole cancer research and treatment hospital. They spent a heartfelt afternoon meeting patients and staff, learning about groundbreaking cancer research, and sharing stories of resilience and hope.

The visit included a special Q&A session where patients and hospital staff could engage directly with the athletes. This partnership goes beyond raising funds—it’s about connection, encouragement, and highlighting the transformative power of sport.
