Super League Triathlon Launches Documentary Series with Behind The Scenes Look at Hayden Wilde v Alex Yee

/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Super League Triathlon has launched the first of eight documentaries giving incredible behind the scenes access to the world’s best triathletes with the first episode taking a special look at the rivalry between Alex Yee and Hayden Wilde.

The eight stand-alone episodes will initially be released exclusively on Super League’s YouTube channel each Thursday between now and the start of the fifth anniversary Championship Series, which kicks-off in London on August 27.

It all begins with ‘Punch for Punch’, which explores the dynamic between the two athletes that form the biggest rivalry in the sport. The episode sees Wilde come into the opening race of the 2022 Championship Series in London recovering from a severe illness that wiped him out just weeks prior. The two superstars go stride for stride with local boy Yee wanting to avenge the defeat he suffered a year ago in front of his home fans.

The documentary follows Wilde on his medical appointment to try and discover what is wrong with him and then puts the foes head-to-head to discuss each other before they go at it again on the streets of London.

Speaking of their rivalry, Wilde said: “Every time I know that Alex is there, when we get to the front of the race you know you are going to battle to see who can hold on. He’s the guy that gets me up in the morning and makes me want to get better and beat this guy. When I get into a battle with someone 100 per cent I want to win.”

Yee added: “It’s hard to put into words, but the best thing about it is that we bring the best out of each other.”

The series will continue with dramatic episodes giving unrivalled access to triathlon stars Matt Hauser, Cassandre Beaugrand, Taylor Spivey, Vasco Vilaca – and the aftermath of his seal attack in Malibu, a Hayden Wilde special, Georgia Taylor-Brown and the Bahrain Victorious Scorpions and their battle for the Teams title.

The documentaries will initially air exclusively on Super League Triathlon’s YouTube channel and then be available across global broadcast platforms.
