Super League Triathlon Brownlee Racing Back Best Of British To Fire Them to supertri Title
August 9, 2024
LONDON, UK/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Brownlee Racing believe their British legacy can lift them to a first title in supertri League.
Brownlee Racing, the new endurance racing team launched by three-time Olympic medallist Jonny Brownlee and his double-Gold winning brother, Alistair, are entering supertri for the first time after acquiring a team franchise.
The brothers have a huge legacy in global triathlon, and even more so in Britain, where they are household names and have inspired a whole new generation of Olympic greats such as Alex Yee and Beth Potter – both members of the team for 2024.
They also have a goal to develop new British talent, and their team, revealed today, is an incredible blend of youth and experience.
As well as Jonny joining the team from London onwards after his wedding, they have already revealed headliners Yee, who won the Olympic gold medal in Paris as well as mixed relay bronze, and Beth Potter, who was part of the same team and also collected the same colour medal in the women’s race.
Recruited to race alongside Potter is Olympic gold medallist from Tokyo Jess Learmonth, making a comeback to short course racing following an extended absence due to injury and the birth of her first child. They are joined by younger talent in Jess Fullagar and Olivia Mathias.
Their men’s line-up sees Jonny Brownlee and Yee take star billing with the much talked about youngster Connor Bentley getting a chance to race the world’s elite in a full series, as well as Sergio Baxter Cabrera, the Yorkshire based athlete who represents Spain internationally.
While Jonny Brownlee is taking a player/manager role in terms of overseeing proceedings, he will be leaving the full management duties on the ground to Non Stanford, the former World and European champion who will guide the team at all supertri events in 2024.
supertri League begins in Boston on August 18. All four Teams have now revealed their rosters for 2024, with the winners of 11 Olympic medals in Paris competing.
