SUAREZ Gran Fondo National Series Opens 2024 Registration

Event series includes the 2024 USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championships in Frederick, MD on September 15 at the Gran Fondo Maryland

(Gettysburg, PA – October 23, 2023) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Founded in 2012 by event director Reuben Kline, the SUAREZ Gran Fondo National Series is the largest and most competitive series of gran fondo cycling events in the United States. New for 2024, custom event-specific jerseys from Suarez Cycling Apparel will be included with registration for all riders who sign up at least 24 days before Gran Fondo National Series Events.

The Series pioneered the time-segment competition format in the United States and organizes the official USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championships. Qualified athletes have the opportunity to be crowned National Champion and pull on the coveted Stars and Stripes Gran Fondo National Championship jersey!

Riders have the opportunity to pace themselves and enjoy the view, professional or competitive cyclists can “show their strength” at every timed section. Outside those timed sections, riders have an opportunity to look around and enjoy the beautiful scenery, relax, stop at feed stations, regroup with friends, and connect with new friends.

Series events have three courses to suit all abilities of cyclists; a Gran Route (approx. 100 miles, 4 timed sections), a Medio Route (approx. 60 miles, 3 timed sections) and a Piccolo Route (approx. 35 miles, 2 timed sections).

More competitive riders can compete for overall victory and age group podiums for men and women. There is also a team competition, won by the combined time of a team’s fastest three riders. Bonus seconds are awarded for additional team members who finish, meaning there’s a benefit to bringing a larger team.

Custom “Race Winner” cycling kits by SUAREZ cycling are awarded to all Gran Route age group category winners.

No racing license required to participate in Series events. Support includes fully stocked aid stations and SAG support. Riders are welcomed back to the finish with a healthy meal and beer, plus chances to win valuable prizes!

Suarez Cycling Apparel continues as title sponsor, the Colombian apparel brand supplies custom winner’s cycling kits for Gran Route age-group champions at all Series events, a commemorative jersey for US Gran Fondo National Championships event participants, and event-specific jerseys included for riders who register for Series events at least 24 days in advance.

Each GFNS event features a raffle with over than $5,000 of prizes from Series sponsors, and ALL riders are eligible to win. Founded in 2012 by event director Reuben Kline, the Gran Fondo National Series is the largest and most competitive series of gran fondo cycling events in the United States. Gran Fondo National Series was the first series to implement timed-segment racing into US gran fondo events and has crowned Gran Fondo National Champions and Gran Fondo National Series Champions since 2012.
