Sportstats relies on RACE RESULT timing technology at Bloomsday Run

Boulder/Ottawa May 6, 2022 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Almost 25,000 runners returned to Spokane Washington last weekend for the Lilac Bloomsday Run. The largest sports timing company in the world, Sportstats, was on site with RACE RESULT timing technology to provide runners and spectators with live race results and mile splits.

The Lilac Bloomsday Run is an annual timed 12k run/walk that has been held on the first Sunday in May since 1977. After two years of only virtual events due to the pandemic, 24,119 in-person registrants toed the starting line of Bloomsday for a magnificent race.

To guarantee professional timing results at the event, Sportstats relied on the proven RACE RESULT passive technology. The timing system consists of UHF decoders and ground antenna mats suitable for mass events. The ground antenna mats are quickly deployed, even for the widest starting lines and offer the highest read-rate in the industry. RACE RESULT custom printed all Bloomsday Tyvek bibs for both in-person and virtual runners. Timing transponders were automatically programmed and stuck to the back of bibs by a custom-built machine, which can easily handle over 20,000 bibs in one day.
