Southern Firecracker Introduces Elite Field

March 16, 2021

RSAA, Inc. introduces elite field and $3,400 in cash payouts to the top finishers of the upcoming Southern Firecracker Triathlon.

March 16, 2021 Grenada, MS – Rockstar All Access announces today it has opened up registration for an elite field for the inaugural Southern Firecracker 70.3 mile triathlon to be held on June 26, 2021 at Grenada Lake in Mississippi. The event will pay $3,400 in cash payouts to the overall top 5 male and female finishers.

The inaugural Southern Firecracker triathlon event presented by Grenada Mississippi Tourism Commission will feature a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike course and a 13.1-mile run. The event is sanctioned by the USAT.

Race Director – Thomas Walls commented on the elite field saying, “The growth of triathlon has opened the door for many elite level athletes who are capable of racing at the pro level but do not carry a pro card. I had an athlete explain to me that he recently won a race yet the prize money went to the first pro finisher who had actually finished 7th overall”. In creating the Southern Firecracker Triathlon I wanted to make sure we are able to give these athletes a chance to not only win but take home the prize money.

The elite field is capped at 50 athletes while the age group field is capped at 250 athletes. Athletes looking to race the elite field should reach out to race director Thomas Walls to receive an invitation.

Primal, the official apparel partner of the Southern Firecracker Triathlon also recently announced a $200 gift certificate to the fastest male and female off the bike. Other prizes and awards will be made available as the event locks in additional sponsors for the event.

In other news, RSAA recently secured FinisherPix as the official photographer of the Southern Firecracker Triathlon.
