Sofia Gomez Villafane and Christopher Blevins Take First at Sold Out Life Time Little Sugar MTB

More than 1,000 participants representing 46 states and seven countries

Bentonville, Ark. /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The 2024 Life Time Little Sugar MTB welcomed 1,000 cyclists to the world-class mountain bike trails of Northwest Arkansas this weekend. Finishers of Sunday’s event raced in one of three distances – the 20K, 50K, and 100K courses.

The point-to-point races started Sunday morning in Coler and traveled north into Bella Vista, traversing the hollers and ravines of Little Sugar and Back 40. Riders got a firsthand view of the area’s unique bluff lines, caves and waterfalls before crossing the finish line in downtown Bentonville. The Little Sugar Finish Party at The HUB that followed was complete with food trucks, drinks, a live DJ and awards to celebrate the accomplishments of the day.

In just its second year, Life Time Little Sugar MTB has become well-known in the of mountain bike community, attracting both age group and professional cyclists to take part in the event. This year’s 100K race offered a $65,000 prize purse split between the top five men and women finishers. The prize purse was generously by OZ Trails and Life Time.

“The excitement and growth of Life Time Little Sugar MTB over the past year is an ode to the community this event is rooted in,” said Michelle Duffy, Senior Marketing Director for Life Time Events. “We’re all in on the ‘Mountain Biking Capital of the World’ and are proud to be attracting cyclists to the world-class riding of Northwest Arkansas.”

The Little Sugar MTB event is the kickoff to the Life Time Big Sugar Classic, a week-long industry gathering and celebration of cycling to cap off the season. Festivities throughout the week include brand activations, shakeout rides and social events, before ending with the Life Time Big Sugar Gravel presented by Mazda on Saturday, October 19.

Life Time Little Sugar MTB is among nearly 30 iconic athletic events owned and produced by Life Time. Next up on the Life Time athletic events calendar is the Life Time Big Sugar Gravel race on Saturday, October 19, right back in Bentonville, AR. This is the last stop of the Life Time Grand Prix presented by Mazda and will culminate with the crowning of the 2024 series champions Saturday night at the legendary Gravel Rave.
