(May 23, 2022)/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Running USA and The Equality Institute will present a webinar on Inclusion Best Practices for Endurance Events on Thursday, June 16 at 9am PT/12pm ET.
The webinar is the result of work conducted over the last several months as part of Phase One of Running USA’s DEIA program, which focuses on the LGBTQ+ community. Presenters from The Equality Institute will include Bernadette Peters, CEO, and Patti Flynn, Senior Consultant.
The LGBTQ+ initiative has three goals:
- Help the running and endurance industry become a more inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ community.
- Create awareness among members of Running USA of the importance of LGBTQ+ inclusion at their events.
- Provide practical tools for the members of Running USA in the form of webinars, white papers and inclusive policies.
Attendees of the webinar will come away with practical solutions for accomplishing all of the above, as well as document takeaways.
“We look forward to presenting this invaluable webinar to our Running USA members and guests as they work to enhance inclusivity at their events,” said Dawna Stone, CEO of Running USA. “The Equality Institute is a thought leader in this work and we appreciate the grant from Brooks Running which funded the first phase of our DEIA initiative.”
