PITTSBURGH (March 7, 2024) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – P3R is excited to announce the newest addition to the 2024 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend of Events – the U. S. Steel Pittsburgh Champions Mile. This untimed, inclusive event welcomes everyone to join in a celebration of inclusion, joy, and bravery, supporting families and friends living with disabilities.
Scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. on “Family Day” of Marathon Weekend on May 4, the U. S. Steel Pittsburgh Champions Mile invites participants of all abilities to run, walk, stroll or roll through the vibrant streets of Pittsburgh, culminating in a memorable finish under the iconic DICK’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon finish line on the Boulevard of the Allies. This event is designed to create a sense of unity and accomplishment, allowing individuals of diverse backgrounds to come together and share in the spirit of community.
“The U. S. Steel Pittsburgh Champions Mile embodies P3R’s mission to inspire any and all to move. Now even more people will have the opportunity to participate and earn their medal during marathon weekend,” said Troy Schooley, P3R CEO. “This event will showcase the true spirit of the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend – a celebration where everyone, regardless of ability, is not only welcome but celebrated.”
The U. S. Steel Pittsburgh Champions Mile also will give back to the community with $10 from every registration directly benefiting the 45 official charities of the Run for a Reason Charity Program presented by KeyBank. By being part of the event, participants not only engage in a unique and inclusive experience but also contribute to meaningful causes that make a positive impact on the community.

Participants are encouraged to sign up and be a part of this empowering experience, open to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. All registered participants will receive an event shirt and medal to commemorate their involvement in the inaugural U. S. Steel Pittsburgh Champions Mile.
