(San Clemente, CA – April 2, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Athletes, outdoor enthusiasts, and media attending the 2025 Life Time Sea Otter Classic and Expo will have opportunities to get acquainted with new and innovative sunglasses and helmets from Rudy Project at Booth R137. During the four-day Expo (April 10-13, 2025), Rudy Project will showcase new products and the latest colorways from the 2025 collection, highlighted by Turbolence and Astral Sphere sunglasses, best-in-class Rebel helmet, and the all-new Wingdream aero helmet.

Innovations in Performance, Safety, and Sustainability

Rudy Project has produced best-in-class sunglasses, helmets, and prescription eyewear for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts for more than 40 years. As athletes expand their horizons and participate in an ever-widening range of activities, they are increasingly drawn to Rudy Project’s commitments to quality, sustainability, value, and versatility. Rudy Project delivers optimal performance and protection everywhere and anywhere athletes go, and their products embody the philosophy that performance starts from the head.

Wingdream Aero Helmet: This revolutionary evolution to Rudy Project’s industry-leading Wing helmet sets new benchmarks in aerodynamics and safety for cyclists and triathletes. Developed in collaboration the Bahrain Victorious Team, the Wingdream’s benefits were tested and validated by SwissSide. Jim Manton from ERO Sports said, “We performed an independent test of the Rudy Project Wingdream Aero helmet recently and the review… features 5 athletes being tested using their own aero helmets against the WingDream (because those helmets had already tested fastest for them). The results speak for themselves.” All five athletes in this video review – including a 2024 Pro Ironman Lake Placid Champion – were faster (i.e., lower drag coefficient, saved Watts) wearing the WingDream.

Turbolence Sunglasses: Superior sunglasses for dynamic athletes, Turbolence frames can be fitted with a removable foam interface that redirects sweat away from the eyes, and an optional retention strap to keep the glasses in place, both sold separately. These features are in addition to standard Rudy Project options, including virtually unbreakable ImpactX lenses, full-thickness photochromic treatments, adjustable anti-slip nosepiece, and sustainable Rilsan® Clear sustainable frame material (45% castor oil).

Astral Sphere Sunglasses: Spherical lenses mirror the contours of the eyeball, so light is evenly distributed, resulting in better optics. This contrasts with most shield-style glasses that feature cylindrical lenses that curve on only one axis. The spherical lens, available in photochromic or polarized versions, ensures a wide, distortion-free field of view, reduces glare, and increases the space between the lens and face to help prevent fogging. Frames are made from sustainable Rilsan® Clear —a lightweight and durable material made from 45% castor oil.

Rebel Helmet: Leading the way in safety, sustainability, and performance, the Rebel incorporates carbon fiber panels that provide stronger structural reinforcement and require less polystyrene (foam), which reduces weight and allows for larger vents without sacrificing safety. Proving that sustainability and safety can coexist, the Rebel’s shell, straps, and padding are made from recycled materials and the helmet received a 5-Star Safety Rating from the Virginia Tech research lab.

Ride to Zero” Challenge Activation

To showcase Rudy Project’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, the brand will host a social media challenge in partnership with the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). The “Ride to Zero” Challenge encourages participants to tag @rudyproject, @rudyprojectna, and @nica in Instagram Reels that answer one of the following questions: What does sustainability in cycling mean to you? How do you make your rides more eco-friendly? Why is it important to support sustainable cycling brands? Participants who post Reels can then stop by the Rudy Project booth (R137) at the Sea Otter Expo to pick up a free bioplastic water bottle (made from sugarcane-based materials). Rudy Project will also host an information session each morning in the booth and raffle off a pair of the limited edition “Ride To Zero” Spinshield Air or Spinshield sunglasses.
