Relay race support added to the sodisp Challenge Platform
March 29, 2021
Sodisp is the most complete and engaging platform to host virtual events and challenges. The only platform with Strava, Garmin and Polar auto-sync. Start your virtual event or challenge today on sodisp.com!
Relay races are a great way for teams to work together in achieving a common goal. It’s the ultimate way to improve team building and engaging communities! Examples of relay races are a weekend-long relay race, or a triathlon done by 3 team members and then combined in a final joined result.
Participants can use any of the supported wearable integrations to sync or submit their results. A relay race uses slots to define the intermediate sub results. The sodisp platform will automatically assign each activity to the correct relay slot using our scoring engine.
Sodisp now supports two type of relay races:
- Time based slots: relay slots are defined with a fixed start and end time.
- Distance based slots: relay slots are defined with a given distance (plus margins).
Relay races support multi-sport configurations to allow team triathlons where each team member completes one leg of the triathlon.
Self-service team management
As a race director you can define the available relay slots and the team members can then pick one or more slots for themselves. Team captains (and race organizers) can assign relay slots to any team member. This ensures each team is in complete control and reduces support load on race organizations at the same time.
As a race director you have access to a report to ensure all relay slots are filled before your event starts.
Auto-sync with all major fitness brands enables the best possible experience
Using our unique Garmin, Strava, Fitbit, Polar, Suunto, and COROS integrations owners of these devices can automatically sync their activities the moment they save an activity on their app/watch! We will take their activity and connect it with the virtual challenges they participate in.
We also support manual entry and the upload of gpx files to allow everyone to join the challenge. We automatically validate each activity based on the selected activity type to keep leaderboards clean.
Eight engaging Virtual Challenge Modes
There is a total of eight different challenge types available (best result, distance, elevation, track, total time, calories, stair climbing and badge mode) which all support individuals and teams. Each type of challenge has different options to fine-tune it and allows you to create truly unique virtual experiences!
All events hosted on sodisp come packed with a range of social engagement features to keep participants engaged from start to finish. Results and leaderboards show the avatar of the user and allow liking, commenting and easy sharing.
A range of customizable email triggers allow you to send personalized messages to participants during their journey and keep them motivated to make it to the virtual finish line!
