May 9, 2022
Elmwood, LA. /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Registration is now open for the 9th Annual Huey P Long Bridge Run scheduled for Saturday, October 15, 2022. Runners & walkers can sign up for the incredibly low price of only $25 during the promotional Launch from May 9-11.
Previously held in the Spring, the race moved to the fall for the 2021 edition due to the pandemic. Last year saw many changes including switching the course direction to Westbank to Eastbank and finishing the race at Ochsner Fitness Center. The charitable impact of the event took a substantial step forward with the Runsignup/GiveSignUp platform, allowing participants to donate or fundraise, making their event more meaningful.
New for 2022, the event is now a part of the New Orleans Track Club Grand Prix Series. “This is the first year the NOTC has included outside events as a part of the Grand Prix”, said Mike Wattigny, Marketing Director of the race. “We are excited for the Huey P. Long Bridge Run to be included and look forward to more collaborations to improve the health of our region.”
After a few years away, the Louisiana Bridge Run Series returns with a slightly different schedule from the past. The Caesars Sportsbook Crescent Connection Bridge Run 5K kicks off the 3-bridge series on June 4th. The United Way of St. Charles Bridge Run will happen on June 11th. The HPL Bridge Run will serve as the finale to the LA Bridge Run Series. Walkers and runners who complete all 3 races will receive a commemorative Finisher’s Medal to celebrate their accomplishment.
The 9th Annual Huey P Long Bridge Run presented by Ochsner Fitness Center will take place on October 15, 2022.
