Registration for The Trans-Texas Virtual Run—A Race as Big as Texas—Is Open

Houston, Texas (June 2, 2020) – Trail Racing Over Texas (TROT), the largest trail racing company in Texas, announces the launch of a new event today: The Trans-Texas Virtual Run. This event is as large as the State of Texas and with all the swagger. Individuals and relay teams will have 6 months to run the length of Texas (879 Miles) starting July 1^st. Individuals and teams can register on ultrasignup.com.

All registrants will receive a bib, tri-blend gender-specific shirt, a course map and sticker when they register and a custom finisher’s medal designed by Elevation Culture when they complete the challenge. Individuals and teams racing across the state will be tracked on a virtual leaderboard updated daily as run and times are submitted by participants. Runners will also achieve digital badges for reaching milestone distances.

“What me miss most about our trail races is the community of runners and camaraderie of helping each other get to the finish line” says Rob Goyen, Co-owner of Trail Racing Over Texas. “With Trans-Texas, we wanted to create that sense of community virtually and on a national scale while making sure to follow the best public health guidance for keeping runners safe during the pandemic.”

For this event TROT is partnering with the non-profit True Messages to raise funds to help the Tarahumara of Northern Mexico as they wrestle with the Novel Coronavirus. Six dollars of every registration will go towards this charity and a tally of funds raised will be available for viewing on the TROT Website. In addition, donations will be doubled for all registrations received before June 3^rd at midnight.
