RBC GranFondo Whistler posts strong early registration forecasts for 2023
January 25, 2023
Event is on track for 23% growth; the 3rd straight year of upwards momentum
Vancouver, BC /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – RBC GranFondo Whistler today announced early registration data for 2023 showing a 23% increase in participation numbers vs the last non-covid affected year: 2019. (2022 saw a record breaking 6,983 participants sign up). RBC GranFondo, the company behind the September event, typically forecasts performance based on end-of-January totals. This milestone is a major move for the RBC GranFondo Whistler after atypical performances across the sports event industry during return-to-events, and shows the continued upwards trajectory of North America’s largest Gran Fondo.
“Strong registration is a reward, but there isn’t a marketing cheat-code for this event” says Oli Cartmell, Marketing Director at RBC GranFondo. “We strongly believe in creating high quality experiences for participants and sponsors alike that motivate people to come together, form new friendships and naturally advocate for more people to get involved year after year – frequently by word of mouth”
This news comes in the wake of many recent initiatives and accomplishments of the company, including:
- A North American record breaking 6,983 riders registered in 2022
- Launch of new branding and mission statement for 2023 showcasing ‘From Sea to Sky’
