Ragnar Introduces Solo Events for the Individual Runner

March 20, 2025

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (March 20, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Ragnar Events, the nation’s premier host of team-based relay running events, is thrilled to introduce race options for solo runners at select Ragnar Trail Races in 2025. This bold new offering builds on Ragnar’s legacy, inviting an entirely new audience to experience the exhilarating adventure the brand is known for.

For the first time ever, individual runners will have the chance to compete across three race formats. The Loop option challenges runners to race one of the three Ragnar loops, a distance of 5–9 miles, depending on the event. The 6-Hour Ultra option allows runners to complete as many loops as they can within six hours, with the flexibility to take breaks as needed. The ultimate test, the 24-Hour Ultra, is a true endurance challenge, where athletes can push their physical and mental limits by running as many loops as possible within a 24-hour period.

Ragnar Trail events take place in stunningly beautiful locations and provide amazing trail running opportunities. Each individual option takes place during the traditional team event in the Ragnar Village. Solo participants will experience all the elements that make Ragnar events unforgettable, including overnight camping, lively games and activities, and the camaraderie that defines the Ragnar spirit.

“I can’t wait to bring our first solo event to life. Welcoming individual athletes into the Ragnar family is something we’ve been dreaming about for years,” said Philip LeHaye, General Manager of Ragnar Events. “We can’t wait to see how these runners rise to the occasion, and we plan to expand this offering in the future.”

These solo events are available at six Ragnar Trail events in 2025:

  1. Ragnar Trail Ohio, May 30–31, 2025
  2. Ragnar Trail Colorado, June 6–7, 2025
  3. Ragnar Trail Vermont, July 11–12, 2025
