Performance Running Brand ‘On’ Releases Third Generation Cloudflyer

On breaks the mold with a Swiss approach to support
ZURICH, Switzerland, August 20, 2020 – Swiss performance running brand ‘On’ today unveils the all-new Cloudflyer; one of the world’s lightest, fully-cushioned support shoes. Now fortified with Helion Superfoam™, a wider base and upgraded mesh, the third of the Cloudflyer series couples On’s proprietary technology with premium comfort in six fresh colorways. Available now at on-running.com and select retailers for $159.99, the Cloudflyer leads the lineup from the fastest-growing brand in run.
Equipped with On’s signature CloudTec® sole and trademarked Speedboard™, the new iteration takes notes from its 2015 pioneering effort to reinvent support and break away from an industry-wide aversion to pronation. Where competing models block inward rotation and disengage vital muscles, the Cloudflyer provides medial reinforcement to guide, but not stop pronation; supporting each runner’s full range of motion.
“Unlike your average support shoe, the Cloudflyer focuses on cushioning, not correction,” says On Co-Founder Olivier Bernhard. “With cloud elements placed where reinforcement is needed most, the third Cloudflyer is engineered to adapt to its runner’s natural gait; preventing injury and increasing comfort.”
Redesigned with a forked outsole, 3D-molded heel counter and breathable upper, the third generation of the Cloudflyer builds upon the strengths of its predecessor: cushioning, protection, support and lightness.

Who is On?
Based in Zurich, Switzerland, On has taken the athletic footwear market by storm. Driven by peer-recommendation, runners are discovering the superior performance and feel of On running shoes and its award-winning CloudTec® technology. As a result, On is attracting the fastest-growing global fan community and has joined the ranks of the leading brands in the US, Europe and Japan. On’s CloudTec® sole is patented worldwide. Ten years after market launch, On is available at more than 6,000 retailers and over 55 countries in Europe, North America, South America and Asia-Pacific.
How does On’s patented CloudTec® system work?
Cushioned landing, firm push-off: that’s the core concept behind On’s revolution of the running shoe. On’s patented technology combines the benefits of a soft training shoe with those of a hard and fast racer; a radical development in the sports industry. The secret to this dual functionality lies in On’s “Clouds” – hollow pods on the sole of each shoe that compress upon impact to cushion landings and then lock to form a solid foundation required for powerful push-offs. Athletes and coaches who’ve tried On have reported greater muscle activation, new personal bests and shorter recovery times. These findings are also backed by scientific research: independent studies by the reputed Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland have confirmed that the patented CloudTec® system substantially reduces athletes’ heart rates and blood lactate levels.
