PeopleForBikes Announces Spring Bicycle Leadership Conference as Part of 2022 Bicycle Leadership Series
October 26, 2021
BOULDER, COLO (Oct. 26, 2021) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – PeopleForBikes, a national bicycling advocacy organization and the bicycle industry’s trade association, is pleased to announce its 2022 in-person Bicycle Leadership Conference (BLC), taking place March 21-23, 2022 in Dana Point, CA. After a two-year hiatus, the BLC will return to California, gathering leaders from across the industry for discussions on the most important issues facing bicycling, inspiring keynotes, educational sessions, networking and time to enjoy the area’s spectacular bike rides.
Topics will include new riders and new consumer behaviors, trade and tariff issues, global supply chain and labor challenges, diverse talent attraction and retention, public lands issues and all things electric bicycles — access, legislation, regulations, incentives and battery recycling.
“We expanded the Bicycle Leadership Conference to become the world’s foremost education and networking event for the bicycling industry,” said PeopleForBikes Vice President of Business Network Ravi Rajcoomar. “We’re so excited to get everyone back together in beautiful Southern California to learn, grow and direct the future of bicycling.”
Notable keynote speakers for the 2022 BLC include the extremely popular Guy Raz, host of NPR’s top-rated podcasts “How I Built This” and “Wisdom From the Top,” and best-selling author Polly LaBarre, founding member of Fast Company and co-author of “Mavericks at Work: Why the Most Original Minds in Business Win.” These inspiring voices on business and innovation will help lay the groundwork for leaders to grow their companies and the bike industry.
“With the help of PeopleForBikes’ board and committee leaders, we’re designing the conference to address the new world we all live in — for businesses and for our current and future customers. A lot of things changed over the last two years and our educational programming will meet that change,” said Rajcoomar. “Thank you to all the local Orange County industry leaders who offered to help host the best bike rides and local activities. On and off-road group rides, will be the signature focus of the event.”
PeopleForBikes’ 2022 Leadership Series is a collection of education and networking events designed to bring the bike industry together to help shape the future of bicycling and the bike business. The series will feature in-person events, including an Electric Bicycle Summit in May, an eMTB Summit in September, and a brand new event for the industry’s next generation of leaders in mid-October held in Bentonville, AR. It’s no secret that Bentonville has become a hotbed for cycling and an attractive destination to live and work. In addition to an innovative agenda, a sharper focus on networking, participants will experience Bentonville’s world-class recreational biking infrastructure.
The series will also include two D.C. Congressional Fly-Ins in April and June that are part of PeopleForBikes’ ongoing efforts to elevate the voice of the bike industry on Capitol Hill, educate policymakers on the many benefits of prioritizing bicycling and influence key policy decisions at the federal level.
Throughout the year, PeopleForBikes will offer virtual events programming with a virtual Bicycle Leadership Conference in June and the continuation of its popular monthly industry webinar series available to PeopleForBikes members, featuring exclusive, leading-edge content.
