P3R Ignites Movement Revolution with Trailblazing NIL Partnerships: Six Local College Athletes Onboard to Fuel the Fire

October 25, 2023

P3R pioneers an innovative collaboration with a diverse roster of local college athletes, setting a new precedent in the realm of Name, Image, and Likeness partnerships

PITTSBURGH (Oct. 25, 2023) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – P3R – the innovative engine behind Pittsburgh’s most exhilarating sporting events – is breaking new ground by signing Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) partnerships with six local college student-athletes for the 2023-24 academic year. P3R’s NIL Athlete program, now in its second year, continues to showcase P3R’s trailblazing approach to sport and movement as one of the first event management organizations to wholeheartedly embrace NIL partnerships — specifically with athletes who participate in underrepresented sports.

This year’s P3R Athletes will create content, including educational blogs, inspirational social media posts, captivating videos, and more, designed to resonate with P3R’s social media followers, email subscribers and event participants. The 2023-24 class of P3R Athletes includes:

  • Jake Borgesi, Penn State University (Sports: Track and Field and Cross Country)
  • Aurielle Brunner, Chatham University (Sports: Track and Field and Basketball)
  • Breanna Kelley, University of Pittsburgh (Sport: Volleyball)
  • Karsyn Spears, Kent State University (Sports: Track and Field and Cross Country)
  • Trevor Paschall, University of North Carolina (Sport: Track and Field)
  • Mara Whalen, Duquesne University (Sports: Track and Field and Cross Country)

Troy Schooley, P3R CEO, couldn’t be more excited. “Our mission is to inspire any and all to move – we want to ignite a passion for movement and wellness in our community,” Schooley said. “These athletes are the spark we need. They will not only enrich our programming but also inspire a more diverse and inclusive audience to move.”

The P3R Athletes will have the opportunity to engage with all P3R audiences including those preparing for the 2024 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend of Events, participants in the award-winning Kids of STEEL program and teenagers who are engaged with the Run Varsity program.

“I wanted to become a P3R athlete as soon as I heard about their mission to inspire any and all to move,” Borgesi said. “I am so glad to be part of a group that wants to help everyone live a healthy and active lifestyle!”
