Dec 23, 2024 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – On Saturday, March 1, 2025, more than 600 ultra-runners will travel from around the globe to race in the 35th Annual The Way Too Cool 50K Endurance Run (WTC50K) presented by Altra and the inaugural 10 mile event. The 50K race is known as one of the most popular trail and ultra-running endurance events in the U.S. Runners compete at Olympic levels to beat their personal and race record course times. The brand new 10 mile course will traverse the first part of the iconic WTC50k course. This new addition will welcome trail runners of all levels to compete and enjoy the WTC epic experience.

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, more than 600 runners from novices to veterans alike will compete in The American River Endurance Runs presented by Altra. The event will feature the iconic 50-mile race along with the ever popular 25-mile distance and back by runner demand the 10-mile distance. All races feature point-to-point courses with well supported aid stations and experienced volunteers. The 50-Mile race, now in its 45th year, begins in Folsom, CA and ends in Auburn CA. The AR25 begins in Folsom and runs the second half of the AR50 course to Auburn. The AR10 traverses the last 10 miles of the AR25/AR50 course.
“One of AR’s strengths is it’s location in the Sierra Foothills, as well as the dramatic climb to Auburn at the end of the 50-mile, 25-mile and 10-mile run that challenges all ultra-athletes,” said NorCalUltras Race Director Julie Fingar. “We are so fortunate to host this event in a region that is so rich in wilderness, beauty and open space, but also an area that challenges the world’s top athletes.”

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, more than 400 runners from around the world will join at The Rio Del Lago 50K &100 Mile Endurance Runs (RDL) presented by Altra. This event features a combined start at 5 A.M. with 50K and 100-mile runners beginning at Beal’s Point, Folsom Lake State Recreation Area in the Sierra-Nevada Foothills. Both RDL courses are fast and worthy of setting a PR. The 100-Mile course is crew accessible and pacer friendly. The 50K and 100-Mile races are a great way to punctuate your ultra season. The 100-Mile event is a qualifier for the Western States 100 2026 race.
“Running an ultra takes an unbelievable amount of commitment and physical and mental perseverance,” said Fingar. “This race has continued to attract thousands of veteran and novice runners from all over the world to put their training to the test and cross that finish line, and potentially set a PR.”
