Nora Klingfus and William Surbaugh win Stages Cycling Lutsen 99er produced by Life Time

2,200 mountain bikers take on the course on the Minnesota North Shore
Lutsen, Minn./ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Nora Klingfus and William Surbaugh won the 2023 edition of Life Time’s (NYSE: LTH) Stages Cycling Lutsen 99er on Minnesota’s North Shore of Lake Superior on Saturday. A field of 2,200 riders took on four distances: 25, 49, 69 and signature 99-miles as well as kids and juniors events. Racers traveled through the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains, crossed over the Poplar River overlooking majestic Lake Superior, and over ridgelines made of glacially sculpted terrain of rolling hills along the southern range of the Boreal Forest.
“The Lutsen 99er is a special event because the focus isn’t so much on the winners or finish times as it is on the adventure of the ride,” said Peter Spencer, Event Manager at Life Time. “We couldn’t be more excited to have another successful year of this event and bring all these people together to explore the North Shore.”
The Lutsen 99er is a qualifier event for the famed Leadville Trail 100 MTB in Colorado, meaning that riders can earn an entry into the event based on their performance at Lutsen. Qualifying details can be found here.
