New Film Debuts About Courtney Dauwalter’s Epic ‘Triple Crown’ of Ultra-Trail Running

July 11, 2024

In 2023, Courtney Dauwalter won ultrarunning’s three most iconic races during the span of about nine weeks—Western States 100, Hardrock 100, and Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc—in what has become known as the “Triple Crown” of ultra-trail running. Salomon, one of her primary sponsors, has just released a new film about her epic summer called “A Team Sport” that highlights how the 39-year-old athlete from Leadville, Colorado, is redefining the boundaries of trail running and inspiring a new generation of athletes.

Dauwalter had already won each of those races twice by the time she arrived in Chamonix in early August, but becoming the first and only person to accomplish the hat trick in one summer, she catapulted herself into another realm. And she did it at a time when women’s ultrarunning has never been more popular or more competitive. run
