Mount to Coast Announces its First Ultrarunning Race Series
December 11, 2024
Three of the four 100k road races in the series will be in partnership with Aravaipa Racing
HONG KONG (Dec. 11, 2024) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Mount to Coast™, the first performance shoe brand to specialize in ultrarunning and long-distance pursuits, today announces the Mount to Coast 100K Ultras Series. The four events in the series will include three races in partnership with Aravaipa Racing, one of the most respected ultrarunning race organizers in the United States, as well as the Lake Waramaug Ultramarathon, the longest-standing 100km race in the country.
“From Aravaipa’s multi-day running event celebrating the New Year to the oldest ultramarathon race in the country, our flagship run series is a curated set of races dedicated to celebrating self-discovery and physical accomplishment,” says Mount to Coast U.S. Country Manager Doug Rosenberg. “Our 100k events would not be possible without the partnership of race organizers like Aravaipa, who are the backbone of the sport, and the openness of historic races like Lake Waramaug to work together. We’re so pleased to support runners as they compete and complete amazing races across the country.”
Starting this month and spanning to the fall of 2025, four road races will form the Mount to Coast 100K Ultras Series:
- Aravaipa Running’s Across the Years, held annually from December 28 through January 3, at the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, AZ on a 1.42-mile loop. This event features a variety of fixed-time and distance options.
- Aravaipa Running’s Jackpot Ultras, held annually from February 14 to February 16 at Cornerstone Park in Henderson, NV. The 1.19-mile course is held around a 31-acre pond. Jackpot Ultras will host the USATF Road 100 Mile Championship and offer various distance and fixed-time formats for participants. The event features live music, awards, and a fully-stocked aid station.
- The 51st annual Jack Bristol Lake Waramaug Ultra Races, held on April 27, 2025, in Kent, Connecticut. Known as the first 100km race in the United States, the ultramarathon will take place on a 7.6-mile loop. Racers can choose between the 100K, 50-miler, or 50K race.
- Aravaipa Running’s Fat Ox Endurance Runs on November 22-24, 2025, in Estrella Mountain Regional Park in Goodyear, Arizona, on a one-mile loop, USATF-certified course. Fat Ox will host the 2025 USATF 24-Hour Championships, attracting top athletes from across the nation.
Mount to Coast will offer distinct finisher medals and all finishers will receive a finishers shirt. If a runner completes three of the four races in the series, they will receive a limited-edition jacket featuring all four race logos.
Additionally, in its first race in the series, the brand will debut its Project Mile Chasers initiative. 16 pre-selected “mile chasers” chosen through an application process will each be awarded a pair of R1s to train and race in.
“Aravaipa Running is excited to take part in the inaugural Mount to Coast Ultra Series to bring together four exciting opportunities to highlight the 100K road distance and see what is possible,” said Aravaipa Founder and CEO Jamil Coury. “Mount to Coast’s commitment to the road ultra scene is refreshing and needed in the sport. Aravaipa looks forward to highlighting these events with media coverage this upcoming year.”
