Life Time, Inc. commits $500,000 dollar-for-dollar Giving Tuesday match on Nov. 30; New fundraising opportunities for athletes

CHANHASSEN, Minn., Nov. 18, 2021 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Life Time Foundation, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable arm of Life Time (NYSE: LTH) today announced a massive commitment to improving children’s health with the launch of Get Kids Moving! The new youth movement focus will fund initiatives of schools and community organizations nationwide to create a future in which kids from all backgrounds can find their passion for lifelong physical activity.

To celebrate Get Kids Moving! and build the Foundation’s fund for Youth Movement, Life Time, Inc. has committed a dollar-for-dollar match for up to $500,000 of contributions raised through the Foundation’s Giving Tuesday campaign happening through November 30. Details on giving can be found here.

“Simply put, the statistics are staggering, and today’s youth are not getting enough exercise. Our Life Time Foundation is committed to changing this through Get Kids Moving!, and we know we can make a positive impact.” said Kimo Seymour, President of Events and Media at Life Time and Executive Director of the Life Time Foundation. “This new focus is an incredibly important—and needed—complement to our work in bettering children’s health by serving the most nourishing food possible in schools. These kids are our future, and we must make sure they’re developing lifelong, healthy values.”

The focus on youth movement is an addition to the Foundation’s 15-year commitment to improving children’s health by improving school food. To date, the Foundation has impacted more than 1.7 million students at 3,634 schools through 35 public school district partnerships. Through this grant, the Foundation will fund projects of school districts, school sites, and local non-profit organizations across the country that make safe, fun, enriching physical activity accessible for to all kids and support them, especially those from historically underserved communities, in developing healthy lifelong habits of physical activity.

To engage those wanting to support the work of the Life Time Foundation, a first-ever Life Time Foundation Team has launched, with applications now available to join the team for six of Life Time’s biggest athletic events. Those who commit to fundraising between $1,500 and $3,000 while training for and participating in a Life Time athletic event will have the reward of bypassing the registration lottery, receiving guaranteed entry, and wearing a Life Time Foundation branded cycle kit or running apparel during their event(s). The six events for 2022 are:

Seymour continued, “Life Time’s cycle and triathlon events are the nation’s most epic, iconic, bucket-list worthy races, making this one of the most unique fundraising opportunities available.
