LEOMO Launches Remote Bike-Fitting Service for Cyclists and Triathletes
October 2, 2020
Service utilizes LEOMO's TYPE-S wearable motion analysis technology
Boulder, CO — LEOMO Inc. has launched the world’s first technology-enhanced remote bike-fitting service in Japan using TYPE-S Sensor Kit Pro.
Utilizing LEOMO’s revolutionary portable motion analysis technology and LEOMO’s expertise in cycling form data, the new service allows all levels of cyclists and triathletes to fine-tune their position and movements to achieve optimal performance without having to visit a bike shop.
The remote bike-fitting service utilizes LEOMO’s next-level cycling metrics that optimize pedaling form with five sensors. The service includes rental of the TYPE-S Sensor Kit Pro and expert guidance for riders to set up the device and sensors to perform the measurement process while on their road bike or triathlon/TT bike.
The measurements will be shared on the cloud and the LEOMO analysis team will create a report and email it back to the athlete with expert assessment and advice. With the Basic plan, the measurement is performed twice, and the second feedback gives the recommended value of saddle height. In addition, the Standard plan includes three measurements and proposes recommended values for the saddle setbacks.
Traditional bike-fitting methods using coefficients, over-the-counter services using cumbersome harnesses, and empirical and sensory settings have been used to measure and set saddle heights. By using LEOMO’s remote service, we will provide your own benchmark and starting point to those who do not have a standard value. In addition, experienced riders will have more room to improve their performance with the saddle height and setback position based on motion analysis.
Typically competitive cyclists and triathletes go through a bike-fitting service once or twice a year. But there is a demand for micro adjustments between services. There are a lot of athletes who don’t have a bike fitter nearby when they have pain at their current position or want to adjust the position to improve performance.
LEOMO was founded on the principle that “Precision Makes Perfect,” and it has developed sports motion tracking technology with the belief that every cyclist and triathlete can improve their movement patterns to become more efficient, faster, stronger and less susceptible to injury. One of the first steps to achieving those goals is getting an expert-level bike fit to understand the baseline values of their positioning and movement patterns.
LEOMO is planning to launch the service in the U.S. in October and in Europe by the end of this year. In addition, LEOMO is also planning to collaborate with high-caliber bike fitters and top athletes.
