IZIP Partners with Cascade Bicycle Club to Provide Resources for Seattle Riders

Through education and content creation, IZIP and Cascade encourage residents to commute via bike safely
KENT, Wash. (September 15, 2020) — IZIP, a leader in the eBike space, is excited to partner with Cascade Bicycle Club for fall 2020. Together they have created a number of resources for the wave of new bike commuters since the closing of the West Seattle Bridge.
To drive awareness, safety and comfort for bike commuting, IZIP and Cascade collaborated to create informative maps and videos with the best bike routes in the West Seattle area. These resources will be coupled with a fun, stylized map— highlighting neighborhoods, major thoroughfares and emphasized landmarks. Together, the map and resources intend to both inspire and guide newer bikers and seasoned commuters.
The featured routes will include: West Seattle Junction to South Lake Union, White Center to Downtown via Spokane Bridge, and will also offer two options – Spokane St. Bridge Detour to 1st Ave Bridge, and White Center to Georgetown. These major routes encompass most commutes for West Seattle residents, making the map a helpful resource for those struggling to envision what their daily commute might look like on a bike.
“The abrupt closure of the West Seattle Bridge means people are looking for efficient, affordable and safe ways to get around. Biking can be a great option for many – and is already on the rise. The goal of this project is to help new riders and bike-curious folks feel comfortable and confident commuting by providing high quality route information in an easy to understand format,” says Vicky Clarke, Cascade Bicycle Club Policy Director. “By partnering with IZIP, we were able to create a great informative map and videos highlighting two routes and other information that new cyclists might want to know.”
The videos created by IZIP and Cascade further help potential commuters envision their rides and encourage them to avoid gridlocked traffic while taking advantage of Seattle’s wealth of bike paths and bike-friendly streets. Shot POV and drone, the videos will offer new riders a first-person look at their commute.
Throughout this partnership, IZIP and Cascade will be hosting a number of activations with local West Seattle businesses. Aimed to grow awareness of the map, commuter routes, bike safety and give people the opportunity to see and test IZIP’s new fall lineup of eBikes. IZIP’s new Path+, Zuma Luxe and Sumo eBikes will be available for ‘socially-distanced’ demoing. IZIP also will host an online giveaway for one lucky rider to win a new Path+ eBike. The first event will be happening on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Seacrest Park from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. PT plus an additional event at Ounces Taproom & Beer Garden from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. PT.
“As IZIP and the eBike market continue to expand in Seattle, we are glad to be partnering with Cascade to create more educational resources for new riders wanting to get out on bikes,” says Annie Carndall, IZIP Brand Manager. “We are eager to have people check out the new bikes while partnering with a few of our favorite local businesses.”
