IRONMAN and Visit Sacramento Extend Host Venue Agreement to Keep IRONMAN California Triathlon in Sacramento for an Additional Five Years

SACRAMENTO, Calif. / TAMPA, Fla. (July 13, 2023)/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – IRONMAN and Visit Sacramento have agreed to a five-year host venue agreement to keep the IRONMAN® California triathlon in Sacramento, Calif. through 2028. The 2023 Kaiser Permanente IRONMAN® California triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series, is scheduled for Sunday, October 22 and is expected to see approximately 3,000 athletes take on the popular IRONMAN race in California’s Central Valley. The event is also the only full-distance IRONMAN triathlon in the state of California. General registration for the 2023 edition of the event is sold out, however, limited entries remain available through The IRONMAN Foundation.

The 2023 Kaiser Permanente IRONMAN California triathlon will see athletes kick off their IRONMAN journey with a 2.4-mile downriver swim in the American River before athletes embark on the 112-mile fast and flat bike course through the beautiful farm and wine country of Northern California. The 26.2-mile run course takes athletes along the Sacramento River before finishing in front of the State Capitol in downtown Sacramento. The 2023 Kaiser Permanente IRONMAN California triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series offers slots to the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship races taking place in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i (Men) and Nice, France (Women).
