October 31, 2024

Riders will tackle a dream course in the tropical paradise of The Bahamas

New York City, October 31, 2024 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – This Sunday, Nassau, the vibrant capital of The Bahamas, will host the highly anticipated inaugural edition of GFNY Bahamas. Riders will take on a flat 60.8-mile course, offering a unique blend of challenge and stunning scenery.

GFNY Bahamas will offer participants two race options, catering to both seasoned athletes and cycling enthusiasts. The long-distance race will feature two loops of a scenic route, while a medium-distance course will provide a thrilling challenge for those seeking a shorter yet equally rewarding experience. Both races will start and finish at Goodman’s Bay, a picturesque park that overlooks a stunning white sandy beach and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.

The addition of this major cycling event to The Bahamas’ events calendar showcases our commitment to promoting sports tourism and attracting world-class events to our shores,” said the Hon. I. Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation. “We are thrilled to welcome GFNY participants and their families to experience the beauty and hospitality of our islands.”

As we welcome GFNY to our beautiful islands, we are not only opening our doors to world-class athletes but also presenting the vibrant culture and stunning landscapes that make The Bahamas a top-tier destination,” said Latia Duncombe, Director General, The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation. “We are always pleased to take advantage of opportunities to create unique and unforgettable experiences for visitors and residents alike. We look forward to the positive impact this event will have on our local communities.”

Race week kicks off at Goodman’s Bay Park, where activities include GFNY Bahamas’ group rides on Friday and Saturday. On race day, participants will experience a fast, predominantly flat course with breathtaking views of the Caribbean, promising an unforgettable race for all.
