A Legacy of Gravel Riding Excellence

Since its inception in 2017, the Great Otway Gravel Grinder has set the standard for gravel riding in Australia. Now returning for its 9th edition in 2025, Rapid Ascent is proud to showcase the world-class dirt roads of the Otway Ranges. With a near-endless network of high-quality gravel routes stretching in all directions, the event offers two race options—97km and 49km—guiding riders on an unforgettable journey in a well-coordinated race and ride environment.

A Unique and Social Racing Format

One of the standout features of the GOGG is its unique time-out zones, where the racing clock pauses. Riders can take a break to regroup with friends, grab a coffee, or even enjoy a swim at the beach! For social riders, this format takes the pressure off, while for competitive racers, it introduces a strategic element, as they push hard through each timed segment.
