Events DC Joins as Sponsor of the Region’s Premier Pro/Am Cycling Event: Amazon Armed Forces Cycling Classic

ARLINGTON, VA (April 28, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ — Events DC, the official convention and sports authority of Washington, DC, today announced its proud support of the region’s premier Pro/Am event, the Amazon Armed Forces Cycling Classic, taking place May 31 – June 1, 2025. This celebrated event will showcase top-tier professional and amateur cycling races, while also expanding its popular non-competitive Challenge Ride into the heart of Washington, DC — offering participants an exciting new way to experience the city on two wheels.

Gates. “We are also excited to elevate events that enhance how people experience the nation’s capital. From competitive races to family-friendly rides, the Amazon Armed Forces Cycling Classic will have something for everyone to enjoy.”
Both the Challenge Ride and Pro/Am races will share the same start/finish location, situated between the National Mall and the US Capitol building, along 3rd Street, between Constitution Avenue, NW and Independence Avenue, SW. The Challenge Ride will offer a 13 mile route free of cars for the recreational cyclists. Saturday’s Capitol Cup race schedule will feature the Women’s and the Men’s Pro categories. Those fields will also participate in day two of the two-day Omnium in Arlington, VA on Sunday for the 27th edition of the Clarendon Cup.
In addition to the featured events, the Capitol Cup Races will include two amateur races and a free kids’ race. Race and course details for both days are located here.
