Easy Day Sports Names Brian Ulery Director of Operations

Coronado- based event company bolsters team in anticipation of robust 2021 event schedule
Coronado, CA – January 13, 2021 – Easy Day Sports, a boutique event production company, today announced the addition of events industry leader Brian Ulery as Director of Operations. In his new role, Ulery will lead and manage all aspects of the company’s operations department, including planning, logistics, sponsorship activations and venue buildout for Easy Day’s growing roster of races across the country.
“I am absolutely thrilled to add someone of Brian’s caliber and professionalism to lead our operations team,” said Easy Day Sports CEO Jamie Monroe. “He brings a tremendous amount of experience in event production and knows how to execute on race day. His relationships with vendors and contractors will help us take advantage of numerous opportunities on the horizon as we emerge from the pandemic and get back to real, in-person events and races in 2021.”
Ulery possesses over a decade of operations experience working some of the largest special events in the United States. He spent nine years as Operations Director at IRONMAN / Competitor Group where he most recently managed the operations, vendors, and budgets as the Race Director of the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon & ½ Marathon.
“As an athlete myself, I know there is a pent-up demand from the pandemic for people to participate in races, and that the planning needs to start now. I’m looking forward to getting to work with Jamie and the Easy Day team, so we can deliver for our partners and thousands of participants to produce the best race experiences possible” said Ulery.
Easy Day Sports is a boutique event production company that focuses on producing premier, professionally managed events with an emphasis in endurance sports. The company operates the Crown City Classic, a 4th of July Tradition in Coronado, which was held as one of the only live, modified events to take place in Southern California last year. The company also works with the NFL’s New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys, and San Francisco 49ers producing fan focused 5k races at their respective stadiums. In 2020, the company also launched a successful series of Social Distance Virtual Runs, and currently produces both the Kaiser Permanente Thrive Half Marathon in San Diego and Carlsbad 5000, the world’s premier 5-kilometer road race.
