Demand for Life Time Miami Marathon Reaches All-Time High

November 19, 2024

Waitlist for February 2, 2025, event surges to nearly 11,000

MIAMI, November 19, 2024 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ — The 2025 Life Time Miami Marathon & Half presented by FP Movement has set a new record with more than 29,000 runners expressing interest in the February 2 race. This unprecedented demand has resulted in a waitlist of nearly 11,000 runners – on top of the 18,500 runners who have gained a race entry. A lottery process adds waitlisted runners if participants cancel or defer their entry.

Owned and produced by Life Time, the nation’s premier healthy lifestyle brand, the surging demand for the Miami Marathon is in keeping with the growing popularity of distance running events. For example, the New York, Paris, Berlin, Beijing, and London Marathons have all experienced record-breaking participation numbers in the past year. Moreover, with 33% of Miami Marathon registrations coming from international participants, it’s clear the demand for the iconic event is global.

Since the pandemic-driven global shutdowns of 2020, the running industry has seen growth as people increasingly turn to running for exercise and community. Marathons also have become a symbol of personal achievement.

“Known for its vibrant course and welcoming environment, we’re pleased that he Life Time Miami Marathon is at the forefront of this global running movement,” said Frankie Ruiz, co-founder of the Miami Marathon and Chief Running Officer at Life Time. “It’s so wonderful to see a growing passion for running, especially among younger generations who are looking for connection. Marathons provide the perfect combination of physical health, community and accomplishment. We are incredibly grateful for our participants and their support.”

For those seeking a shorter distance, registration for the Life Time Tropical 5K on February 1 remains open at www.themiamimarathon.com.
