Crews Subaru Continues as Title Sponsor of 2021 She Tris Sprint Triathlon Events

Charleston, SC – Crews Subaru confirmed this month they will return as the title sponsor of all three 2021 She Tris Sprint Triathlon events to take place this year. The series will kick off on May 23rd in a new venue (Hobcaw Yacht Club, Mt. Pleasant) with a sprint triathlon and sprint duathlon events. The series continues with two more events in the fall, one in August in Hamlin (Mt. Pleasant) and one in September in Carnes Crossroads (Summerville).  A virtual only She Tris triathlon/duathlon is offered for the month of June and virtual options are offered for each of the scheduled in person events this year for women anywhere who want to join in the fun.

Ken French, head of Marketing and Events at locally owned Crews Subaru says he is a firm believer in partnerships, especially during challenging times, and they do not take them lightly. “We are happy to continue our great partnership and supporting the work She Tris is doing in the community. We really love the confidence this organization brings to women and girls and we have a blast working with Angi and Sarah.

Along with many other businesses, She Tris, the all women race series, pivoted last year to virtual challenges, virtual triathlons/duathlons, and online clinics to stay connected with their growing community of women looking to build confidence in the sport of triathlon.

Now, with vaccines making their way into the local community, race directors Angi Klick and Sarah Hays feel confident about their return to in person events this year. “Things may look a little different this year with respect to our setup and protocols to keeping everyone at a safe distance, but we will continue to exceed the industry and community guidelines to host safe events,” Klick says. For those still unsure about participating in person, virtual options will continue to be available for all 2021 She Tris events, no matter where you’re located!

Not only are She Tris events welcoming for women, they are also beginner friendly distances. Triathletes will swim around 200 yards (depending on the venue), bike 8-9 miles, and run 2-3 miles (exact distances depend on the venue). The season closer at Carnes Crossroads will also include its annual She Tris Girl event with very short distances for girls ages 5 and up.
