COROS Pro Athlete Kilian Jornet Wins, Breaks Record at UTMB

Jornet’s 4th UTMB Victory One of Nine Podium Finishes for COROS Athletes in Chamonix

Irvine, CA/ Chamonix, France, August 30, 2022/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – COROS Wearables Inc., makers of innovative, performance focused GPS watches saw its team of professional athletes reach the podium 9 times during the UTMB week in Chamonix, France; led by Kilian Jornet’s 4^th win and Course Record in the 171km namesake race.

While Kilian’s race captured the headlines, his was just one of several fascinating performances throughout the week. In fact, just 5 minutes behind Kilian, also breaking the incredible 20-hour barrier, was French Athlete Mathieu Blanchard, who followed up his 3^rd place finish in 2021 with a runner-up finish this year. The two men battled back and forth in the late stages of the race, before Jornet was finally able to pull away toward victory. You can read a full analysis of Kilian’s race here.

In addition to the 1-2 finish in the 171km event, COROS also earned 1-2 finishes from Frenchman Ludovic Pommeret and Ecuadorian Joaquín López in the mountainous 145km TDS, and from the Spaniards Manuel Merillas and Antonio Martínez Pérez in the 55km OCC. COROS also witnessed a runner up finish in the UTMB from Canadian Marianne Hogan, and in the 100km CCC from Nepalese runner Sunmaya Budha. However, it was Spain’s Nicolás Molina getting the party started for the brand, taking the victory in the 15km YCC race on Tuesday.
