October 25th, /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Last weekend’s racing at Challenge Peguera-Mallorca set the scene for a close finish to the men’s Challenge Family World Bonus for 2024, and provided a clear leader in the women’s.
By securing her first Challenge Family victory, 22-year-old Alanis Siffert (SUI) further extended her lead over second place Aurélia Boulanger (FRA) making her hard to beat with 1,100 points. Both, however, will race the final Northern Hemisphere points-scoring race, Challenge Xiamen and third place Rebecca Robisch (GER) is lining up in Challenge Barcelona next weekend.
In the men’s standings, Challenge Peguera Mallorca winner, Tom Hug (GER), leap frogged into third position behind Ognjen Stojanović who in turn edged closer to leader Jack Moody (NZL) following his second place in Mallorca. Hug will race Challenge Barcelona, while Stojanović, Moody and fourth place Jesper Svensson (SWE) will all race Challenge Xiamen. Moody is also confirmed for Challenge Canberra so there is still plenty of opportunity for change.
