Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon Partners with Zoom MultiSport for Mentorship Program

February 26, 2020

BOSTON – ethos, the mass participation event organization that produces the Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon, announced a mentoring partnership with the Boston-based triathlon team Zoom Multisport. Designed as a way to share knowledge and build community, the program is open to both experienced triathletes and those new to the sport.

“What we hear from many people is just the idea of doing a triathlon can be daunting,” said Michael O’Neil, president of ethos and Race Director for the Boston Tri. “By bringing together experienced triathletes with those who are considering their first triathlon, we hope to demystify the sport and show it is something everyone can participate in.  We are looking forward to working with Zoom Multisport to bring more people to the sport of triathlon.”

Those interested in participating in the program, either as a mentor or a mentee, are asked to sign up here. The mentoring program will officially launch on February 27, 2020 with a meet-up at Rosa Mexicano in the Seaport district in Boston at 6 pm. All triathletes are welcome to attend and connect with both mentors and mentees.

Both the mentor and the mentee will benefit from open communications, via email, text or in-person.  All participants will be welcome at a monthly meet-up held in the Boston area. Mentees do not have to be a member of Zoom Multisport to participate in this program.

“At Zoom Multisport, we are focused on building community, welcoming all levels of athletic ability in a healthy mix of competitiveness and fun,” said Susannah Ford, PreZident at Zoom Multisport. “We are really excited to partner with the Boston Tri on a mentorship program, one that will help new triathletes embrace multisport events and welcome them into this incredible community.”

The Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon will be held August 1-2, 2020. Registration is now open for Boston’s only triathlon at www.BostonTri.com. The 12th annual event is expected to bring more than 2,000 participants to the Boston waterfront for two days of races for adults, relay teams, kids and local Boston companies. Participants can once again race for free by raising funds for the event’s charitable partner, Boston Medical Center.

The weekend-long event brings together athletes of all ages and abilities to compete in Olympic and sprint distance triathlons and the Boston Corporate Cup competition. Kids Day at the Boston Triathlon will be on Saturday August 1, 2020 while Olympic and sprint distance competitions take place on Sunday, August 2, 2020. All events take place at the DCR’s Carson Beach, a stunning venue in the South Boston waterfront. Additional information is available at BostonTri.com.
